Hey Everyone,

Will recent advances in AI models there has been a lot of progress related to decomping/reverse engineering games. I wanted to see how far these tools can go.

I created a new romhack called Donkey Konga 2 OmniMix, which takes every single chart in the Donkey Konga Series and brings them into a single ISO.
Additionally I used the tool to make the general ISO more functional, no hard coded limits for songs or badges, instead the game checks on load for these things.
We would no longer have to remove a song if someone creates a custom chart, instead it can be added to an ever growing list.
Additionally, Donkey Konga 3 stages were ported to Donkey Konga 2

General Overview of Features:

The base is Donkey Konga 2 (USA). The disc holds 175 songs, 20 stages and 41 badges, and again song count isn't fixed anymore. Duplicate songs/similar songs have been removed.
Donkey Konga 1 songs were also converted.

Menus

  • Songs: the song wheel, shop, Freestyle music menu, Challenge course, records and play-count ranking all work with the full list.
  • Faster scrolling: the wheel speeds up the longer you keep scrolling.
  • Return panels: there is one after every 5 songs, on the wheel and in the shop, so you never scroll to the end to leave.
  • Remembers your exit: if you leave the wheel or shop by a return panel, you come back on that same panel.

Stages

There are 20: the game's 12, plus 8 from Donkey Konga 3.

  • Selection: the new stages join the random pick, and you can choose them by name in Freestyle.
  • Dancing props: Stage has proper animations
  • Camera: it follows Donkey Konga 3's own path along the row and back.

Badges

There are 41: the 30 US badges, plus the 11 that exist only in Donkey Konga 2 (Japan), which are ten faces and Boo.
  • Where you pick them: the extra badges appear after the ones you own, in both badge pickers (after a top-three song score and after a mini-game high score).
  • Always available: they don't depend on what the save file has unlocked.
  • Where they don't appear: These are not part of match that badge.

As of right now I need to think about how I plan on releasing this, but for now I wanted to share.
